Holiday Happenings in the Palm Beaches

Getting into the holiday spirit isn’t hard when living in South Florida. The tropical paradise quickly transforms into a Winter wonderland with offerings of light shows, visits from Santa, menorah lightings, and activities to ring in the new year.

Garden of Lights: In the Mounts Botanical Garden of Palm Beach County, you will find thousands of lights on the tropical foliage as you stroll along the easily walkable pathway. Up until Dec. 23, you can visit the garden Tuesday through Sunday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Christmas with the Chimps: Be prepared to watch the human’s closest relative get presents from Santa at Lion Country Safari in Loxahatchee, Florida. For once a year you are allowed to get out of your vehicle to watch the exchange of gifts on the chimp islands. Be prepared to experience the chimps show their excitement as you are recommended to arrive around 9:30 am to have ample time to reach the chimp islands.

Sounds of the Season:  The Palm Beach Symphony’s holiday concert airs from Dec. 23-31 with an excellent program of all your holiday favorite carols and classics. Hosted by CBS 12 News, this concert is fully televised and makes the perfect background music for your holiday parties, or the perfect channel to watch as you wind down. Channel details are listed at the linked website.

Holiday Tea: Afternoon tea with warm buttermilk scones, signature rose petal jam, delicate pastries, and a wide selection of tea sound like the best way to put those pinkies up at The Breakers in Palm Beach. Reservations are recommended on Dec. 18, 20-24 and 27-30, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m, (877) 724-3188.

Bake Shop on the Beach: The Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island hotel in Riviera Beach is offering cookies, pastries, and specialty cakes in their main lobby all season long. Renowned Chef Kursten Restivo is offering these samples, and a portion of sales benefit The Arc of Palm Beach County.

The Chesterfield: Looking to dine out on Dec. 24 or 25? The Leopard Lounge is Palm Beach is offering a four-course menu alongside live entertainment, and a decadent Christmas inspired menu including beef au poivre, arugula salad and a sticky toffee date cake.
