Three Hidden Day Trip Destinations Near The Treasure Coast
Did you just move to the Jupiter/Martin County area? Are you looking for somewhere to take a quick relaxing day trip?
The area’s central location grants quick access to many of Florida’s gems. Just two hours away from both Miami and Orlando, there are a lot of options for you to choose from.
We will go over some of the hidden day trip gems in the surrounding areas that go unnoticed.
Okeechobee
If you are looking for a nice, relaxing spot surrounded by a nature-filled landscape, Okeechobee is for you.
Located under an hour away from Stuart, the city of Okeechobee provides a convenient access point to the Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail. The lake is also a perfect place to go boating and bass fishing.
Okeechobee is also host to the famed Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival, which will take place from March 2nd to 5th.
Daytona Beach
Sitting two-and-a-half hours North of the Treasure Coast, Daytona Beach is host to one of Florida’s most underappreciated coastal cities.
Daytona has something for everyone, featuring some of the most beautiful beaches in the state, the historic Daytona International Speedway and a fun downtown area at the boardwalk.
The boardwalk area features rides and attractions for the whole family with restaurants, snack bars and an arcade in tow. Angell & Phelps Chocolate Factory is also a popular stop for all ages. Word on the street is that they give out free samples.
Delray Beach
Delray Beach is one of the crown jewels of Palm Beach County that often gets overlooked in favor of the surrounding major hubs like West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale.
The city is fun in its own right, boasting a downtown strip that rivals almost any in Florida located right on Atlantic Avenue. With a deep selection of bars and restaurants to attend, you can spend the whole day just on that strip alone.
Delray is also host to the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens, which is a nice place to unwind surrounded by nature while learning about Japanese culture.
