Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away, and in the spirit of gratefulness, there is no better way to give back to your community than volunteering. As we prepare for the holiday, let us not forget that it is a time to be thankful, and give in ways that we can. Take a look at some local volunteer opportunities in Palm Beach County.
Thanksgiving Basket Brigade | Nov 20th
CDTC's annual Basket Brigade delivers meal baskets with all the ingredients for a traditional Thanksgiving meal to 1,300 families with children with special needs. Just a small donation of $30 sponsors an entire meal for one family, if you can’t make it in person to assemble baskets. Funds received over the budget of the annual Thanksgiving Basket Brigade will be contributed to CDTC’s general fund at the close of the event.
Boys Town Thanksgiving Grateful Give
Join the Boys Town Thanksgiving Grateful Give and be part of a holiday tradition serving the community! Due to the generosity of individuals and corporate sponsors, this event has fed thousands of families who would otherwise not share a complete Thanksgiving meal together. There is a limited capacity of this event and each volunteer must register online by using this form.
Town of Palm Beach United Way Turkey Trot
If you are a family that decides to go on a 5k than relish in brunch and the Macy’s Day Parade, then this ones for you… The Town of Palm Beach United Way Turkey Trot is an annual 5K race on the island of Palm Beach. Proceeds from the race provide Thanksgiving meals to individuals and families throughout Palm Beach County who would otherwise go without a holiday meal.
United Way Project Thanksgiving
As United Way prepares for their 32nd year of Project Thanksgiving their goal is to raise money and food supplies to provide our neighbors in need with a hearty, holiday meal.

For many individuals and families in our community, putting food on the table is hard every day. During the holidays, it’s even harder.
